Sick Children Make the World Go Stop?

Oh how we reap what we sow! Chris and I kept the kids out late several nights in a row (with them getting to bed after 10 pm) and of course, they wake up at 8 am no matter what. I hadn't given them their vitamins for a month - for no other reason than forgetfulness - and so Evie has come down with a good size cold and cough. Which means I have to cancel my haircut tomorrow (I was going to take them to drop in child care during my cut) and we can't go to our small group outing Friday night. Thanks to nature's remedies, Evie is on the mend and her sickness hasn't been able to overcome any other family members. I hope to get back to the gym and their wonderful childcare very soon.

For those who have asked what I use to keep my children well (Evie had ear infections constantly until I began using this and she hasn't had an ear infection since), here it is: Nutrilite Multivitamins daily. Chewable vitamin C's (1 daily or 2 daily when the someone is ill). And liquid echinacea (added to a juice cup 1X daily only while they are sick and for no more than 2 weeks at a time). I can't believe how well my kids have done since I started using this in January. They are the made by the company who put out the first vitamin in the US and only use their own certified organic farms. They can be purchased at http://rowens3.qhealthzone.com/ under vitamins and supplements and children's health and the echinacea is found under immune health. I trust these vitamins more than any other because they have been around for so long and they have certainly proved effective for my kids. Seeing how quickly Evie has gotten better, I will certainly be better about remembering to give them to the kids.

The Expanding Tribe

So, many know we are expecting baby #3. I am 10 weeks along and had my first doctor's visit yesterday. My sonogram is scheduled for Monday and I look forward to seeing the heartbeat.

As I listen to my 2 year old steal a toy from her brother while screaming "Mine!" over and over and my son at 4 desparately tries to refrain from smacking his sister in the face resorting to the fall and wail, I think........will 3 just increase the noise level? Or perhaps #3 will be a cerebral child who will dispel these frequent altercations with sound reason? One can dream, right? Perhaps by the time #3 exits the womb, my #2 child will realize that she indeed is NOT the center of the universe and all that she sees is not "mine." And maybe my #1 will likewise lose his utter idolatry of all things "toy." It certainly reminds me of growing up with my brother. I was just like my son and I remember my mother saying, "You just have to not let it bother you." Crazy how our children can be so much like us.
